James Earl "Jimmy" Carter, Jr. é um político e ex-militar norte-americano – tendo sido o 39° presidente dos Estados Unidos , e vencedor do prêmio Nobel da Paz de 2002, o único presidente de seu país a ter vencido o prêmio após deixar o cargo, Carter serviu como oficial da Marinha dos Estados Unidos, era um fazendeiro de amendoins, serviu dois mandatos como senador do estado da Geórgia e um como governador da Geórgia .
