La censura è sempre uno strumento politico, non è certo uno strumento intellettuale. Strumento intellettuale è la critica, che presuppone la conoscenza di ciò che si giudica e combatte. Criticare non è distruggere, ma ricondurre un oggetto al giusto posto nel processo degli oggetti. Censurare è distruggere, o almeno opporsi al processo del reale. C'è una censura italiana che non è invenzione di un partito politico ma che è naturale al costume stesso italiano. C'è il timore dell'autorità e del dogma, la sottomissione al canone e alla formula, che ci hanno fatto molto ossequienti. Tutto questo conduce dritti alla censura.
