Raúl passou 15 anos de sua carreira jogando pelo Real Madrid tornando-se no jogador que mais atuou na história do clube com 741 aparições, à frente de Sanchís. Com os Blancos, ele ganhou seis La Ligas, três UEFA Champions League , quatro Supercopa da Espanha, uma Supertaça Europeia e duas Copa Intercontinental. Em 2003, ele foi nomeado capitão da equipe e manteve essa posição até sua saída do clube em 2010.

Depois de uma temporada que viu atormentado por lesões, ele foi jogar no Schalke 04 em 2010. Depois de um início lento para a temporada, Raúl recuperou sua forma e ajudou a sua equipe a ganhar o Copa da Alemanha e a Supercopa da Alemanha, marcando gols em momentos importantes. Ele marcou 40 gols em 98 jogos no total, durante sua passagem de dois anos no Schalke 04. Em fevereiro de 2012, ele marcou o gol 400 de sua carreira, durante o jogo entre o Schalke 04 e VfL Wolfsburg.

Depois de declínio para assinar uma extensão de seu contrato com o Schalke 04, ele assinou com Al-Sadd do Qatar em 2012. Wikipedia
