Ralph Waldo Ellison foi um novelista, crítico literário e acadêmico americano. Ele nasceu na cidade de Oklahoma City. Ellison é mais conhecido por seu livro Invisible Man , que ganhou o prêmio National Book Award de 1953. Ele também escreveu Shadow and Act e Going to the Territory , livros que foram muito bem aceitos pela crítica especializada.
