Leopoldo II foi o segundo Rei dos Belgas de 1865 até sua morte. Foi também príncipe da Bélgica, duque de Saxe, duque de Saxe-Coburgo e Gotha, duque de Brabante e soberano do Estado Livre do Congo .Era o segundo filho do rei Leopoldo I, a quem sucedeu em 1865, tendo reinado até sua morte, em 1909. O regime da colônia africana de Leopoldo II, o Estado Livre do Congo, tornou-se um dos escândalos internacionais mais infames da virada do século XIX para o século XX.
