Kim Novak, nome artístico de Marilyn Pauline Novak , é uma atriz norte-americana conhecida por sua atuação como Madeline Elster / Judy Barton no filme Vertigo .Kim Novak resistiu às pressões da Columbia Pictures, estúdio ao qual tinha contrato, para que adotasse o nome artístico de Kit Marlowe, e apenas concordou com a mudança de Marilyn para Kim para evitar que as pessoas a confundissem com a também atriz Marilyn Monroe.

Em 1957, fez uma greve em protesto contra o salário que recebia na época.

Novak decidiu se aposentar do cinema durante a produção de Liebestraum , de Mike Figgis. Antes disso, havia atuado em séries de televisão como Falcon Crest, entre os anos de 1986 e 1987 como participante especial. Atualmente cria cavalos e lhamas no Oregon e na Califórnia.Possui uma estrela na Calçada da Fama, localizada em 6336 Hollywood Boulevard.A música "New Age" Do álbum "Loaded" do Velvet Underground foi escrita como uma homenagem irônica a Novak.
