„Do not imagine that this problem is solely an Iraqi problem because the terrorist front represents a threat to all free countries and free people of the world… Thousands of lives were tragically lost on Sept. 11 when these impostors of Islam reared their ugly head. Thousands more continue to die in Iraq today at the hands of the same terrorists who show complete disregard for human life.“

„All the people that were rooting for me to fail… at the end of the day, tomorrow they have to wake up and have the same life that they had before they woke up today. … They got the same personal problems they had today. And I’m going to continue to live the way I want to live and continue to do the things I want to do.“

„Iraq was not involved in 9-11, Iraq was not a terrorist state. But now that we have decimated the country, the borders are open, freedom fighters from other countries are going in, and they [the U. S. government] have created more terrorism by going to an Islamic country…“

„We argued, as did the security services in this country, that the attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq would increase the threat of terrorist attack in Britain. Tragically Londoners have now paid the price of the Government ignoring such warnings.“

„Because when you look at data going; you can't know "oh, that's a terrorist" and "that's not a terrorist", you probably have to look at more people to find who is a potential terrorist.“

—  Gerard de Graaf 1962
Context: I think if you look at the general public, if you can catch - I mean, yes, there's always risk to privacy. Because when you look at data going; you can't know "oh, that's a terrorist" and "that's not a terrorist", you probably have to look at more people to find who is a potential terrorist. But I think that you cannot belittle the need to use all possible means to avoid if only one terrorist attack. „No one actually knows what these cultures were really like, but it's doubtful that they were free of the same problems of sexual inequality that we have today.“

—  Elizabeth Hand American writer 1957
Apocalypse Descending (2002), Context: A lot of the revisionist thinking by feminist mythologisers — people who based their projections of ancient "matristic" cultures on work done by folks like Marija Gimbutas — is based on archaeological and anthropological speculation that in some cases has since been proved wrong. The pretty happy flower children who lived at ancient Knossos, for instance, were the result of wishful thinking by the Victorian explorer Arthur Evans (a man, please note). No one actually knows what these cultures were really like, but it's doubtful that they were free of the same problems of sexual inequality that we have today.

„We're fighting on many fronts, and Iraq is now the central front. Saddam holdouts and foreign terrorists are trying desperately to undermine Iraq's progress and to throw that country into chaos. The terrorists in Iraq believe their attacks on innocent people will weaken our resolve. That's what they believe. They believe that America will run from a challenge. They're mistaken. Americans are not the running kind.“
