„It isn't always easy to act on what's in your head instead of what's in your heart. And it isn't always right to.“

—  Steven Brust, livro Athyra

Athyra (1993)
Contexto: It isn't always easy to act on what's in your head instead of what's in your heart. And it isn't always right to. The whole trick to knowing what to do is deciding when to make yourself listen to your head, and when it's okay to just follow your feelings.

„When played at the right sound level, which is quite high and exciting, the tones in this music will cause your ears to act as neurophonic instruments that emit sounds that will seem to be issuing directly from your head.“

—  Maryanne Amacher Composer and installation artist 1938 - 2009

Amacher, 1999, cited in: Franziska Schroeder (2006). Bodily instruments and instrumental bodies. Vol. 25. p. 74:
Description of how "ears act as instruments and emit sounds as well as receive them (Amacher, 1999)... [and] the way these 'otoacoustic emissions' might function."

„If I have the right to free speech, it doesn't interfere with your right to free speech. But if I have property, that interferes with your right to have that property“

—  Noam Chomsky american linguist, philosopher and activist 1928

Quotes 1990s, 1995-1999, The Common Good (1998)
Contexto: Property rights are not like other rights, contrary to what Madison and a lot of modern political theory says. If I have the right to free speech, it doesn't interfere with your right to free speech. But if I have property, that interferes with your right to have that property, you don't have it, I have it. So the right to property is very different from the right to freedom of speech. This is often put very misleadingly about rights of property; property has no right. But if we just make sense out of this, maybe there is a right to property, one could debate that, but it's very different from other rights.
