„Don't you find it odd," she continued, "that when you're a kid, everyone, all the world, encourages you to follow your dreams. But when you're older, somehow they act offended if you even try.“
„Where does your responsibility begin here? Wiping away the nebula from your sight, you struggle to find where you really are. You're trying to find the direction of the flow, struggling to hold on to the axis of time. But you can't locate the borderline separating dream and reality. Or even the boundary between what's real and what's possible. All you're sure of is that you're in a delicate position. Delicate-and dangerous. You're pulled along, a part of it, unable to pin down the principles of prophecy, or of logic. Like when a river overflows, washing over a town, all road signs have sunk beneath the waves. And all you can see are the anonymous roofs of the sunken houses.“
— Haruki Murakami Japanese author, novelist 1949

„You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.“
— Dr. Seuss American children's writer and illustrator, co-founder of Beginner Books 1904 - 1991
— Carl Sagan, The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark
Context: Not explaining science seems to me perverse. When you're in love, you want to tell the world. "With Science on Our Side" https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/entertainment/books/1994/01/09/with-science-on-our-side/9e5d2141-9d53-4b4b-aa0f-7a6a0faff845/, Washington Post (January 9, 1994)
„Dream big, when you’re up against it all, when you’re standing on a narrow bridge and you’re about to fall.
Dream big, when you're blocked by a wall, keep on saying in your head, nothing is impossible.
Dream big, and when your moment arrives, look up to the stars and thank God you're alive.
Dream big, the power is inside of you. You'll be love for whoever you are and for whatever you do.“
— Ross Mintzer American musician and performer 1987
Lyrics from the song, “Victory” (April 13, 2013) from MTV Italy Official Lyrics http://testicanzoni.mtv.it/testi-The-Ross-Mintzer-Band_24824218/testo-Victory-14030759
— Noel Gallagher British musician 1967
— Randy Pausch American professor of computer science, human-computer interaction and design 1960 - 2008
Context: So what is today's talk about then? It's about my childhood dreams and how I've achieved them — I've been very fortunate that way; how I believe I've been able to enable the dreams of others, and to some degree, lessons learned: I'm a professor — there should be some lessons learned — and how you can use the stuff you hear today to enable your dreams or enable the dreams of others. And as you get older you may find that enabling-the-dreams-of-others thing is even more fun.
„People don't dream [in Estonia]. People don't have dreams. When your kid wants to be a superstar in America, the whole family supports the kid. If someone has talent it's appreciated and recognized. But in Estonia people will say: What, do you think you're better than us? We here, we are miserable, you're gonna be miserable too, because nobody can be different.“

„The best thing to do when you're in this world, don't you agree, is to get out of it. Crazy or not, scared or not.“
— Louis-ferdinand Céline French writer 1894 - 1961
Context: Then I fell sick, I was delirious, driven mad by fear, they said at the hospital. Maybe so. The best thing to do when you're in this world, don't you agree, is to get out of it. Crazy or not, scared or not. Chapter 5
„I still dream of Orgonon.
I wake up crying.
You're making rain,
And you're just in reach,
When you and sleep escape me.“
— Kate Bush British recording artist; singer, songwriter, musician and record producer 1958
